Shaping narratives that hold products together.

About

I'm Gere, Principal Product Designer based in the Netherlands with 15+ years shaping products, brands, and experiences. I bridge strategy, design, and code, turning complex systems into intuitive products from 0→1.

With roots in both product and brand, I've spent the past decade shaping narratives that hold products together, translating them into working, intentional experiences. My work has shaped products serving ASML, KPN, and ING, and contributed to interactive experiences for Google.

Comfortable with ambiguity and drawn to complex problems, I challenge assumptions to keep what we ship intentional and delightful.

Awards

Innovation Award

HAN University of Applied Sciences

Awarded for Arena, a personal growth platform that combined psychology, storytelling, and gamification. The app assigned users a Myers-Briggs type and guided them through a challenge-based journey inspired by the Hero's Journey, helping them identify strengths, confront limiting beliefs, and work toward self-mastery across mind, body, and spirit.

The project was recognized for translating complex psychological concepts into an intuitive experience accessible to a broad audience. Faculty praised it as a "forward-thinking contribution to societal impact" - noting how it integrated multiple disciplines into a single, cohesive product.

Best Game Concept

·
HAN University of Applied Sciences

Awarded for Helix, a tension-driven survival game inspired by Battle Royale. Before the battle royale genre existed, Helix introduced mechanics now central to the format; shrinking safe zones, last-player-standing gameplay, and environmental pressure. The concept won and moved into development, where I led the design from vision to production.
